Ilana was a powerful woman, and her eyes firmly expressed this power. They expressed such a strong presence of her personality, her opinion on every subject, her immense self-confidence, plain speech without embellishment, she always knew how to point to the root of the matter, and her constant pursuit until the last months of her life continues to resonate and influence even when not physically present.
Her mouth knew how to express her mind directly and decisively, come up with ideas and promote them, express rigid criticism and great appreciation, motivate, make you believe that dreams can come true, no matter what how big, no matter at what age.
But her eyes, the gaze always directed at you, expressed, beyond all these, also the tenderness, the belief in doing, the appreciation and love and even, at times, some degree of hesitation or insecurity. All of which made her such an extraordinary and beloved woman.
The soundtrack is based on recordings of Ilana's voice combined with singing by her granddaughter Gil. Her special high pitch voice which cannot be missed, and which in a certain way has been inherited, accompanies the experience of viewing the painting as one sensory experience.
